I was tagged by Kim at Kimberlyfaye Reads to participate in the Valentine’s Day Book Tag, and I was a little too eager to take part.
Here we go!
STANDALONE BOOK YOU LOVE
OMG! I love love love this book. I’ve done at least 4 rereads since finishing it last year. This is told from male POV (which I love), and has an absolutely perfect HEA.
DYSTOPIAN BOOK YOU LOVE
I know that a lot of people say that this is very similar to Kit Rocha’s Beyond series, but I think that this one had plenty of elements that sets it apart. It’s action-packed, gritty, and above all, sexy as hell. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! (Out later this year.)
A BOOK THAT YOU LOVE BUT NO ONE ELSE TALKS ABOUT
I am OBSESSED with this indie YA series. It’s a fantasy with paranormal elements, and the character development is out of this world. The author does an amazing job with the world-building, too. Each book of the Daughters of Saraqael series is amazing in their own right; I legit can not find one negative thing to say. She has a spinoff series which features the characters in the trilogy, so there’s plenty of awesome to go around! **This series is a very fluid YA, but I personally think it should be classified as NA because of the ages of the characters.**
FAVORITE BOOK COUPLE
I bet you were expecting me to say Jamie and Claire, right? Well, yes. I do love them so. However, Qhuinn & Blay are a very close second. Talk about a slow burn! Black Dagger Brotherhood fans had to wait for 5ish books before they got together, and when they did, it was sooooo worth it. I still get the warm & fuzzies just thinking about them.
BOOK THAT OTHER PEOPLE LOVE BUT YOU HAVEN’T GOTTEN AROUND TO READING
One day. ONE DAY.
A BOOK WITH RED ON THE COVER
yes. yes. yes. yes. YES!
A BOOK WITH PINK ON THE COVER
This was a close second for the standalone option. I ADORED this book. It gives you a socially awkward, yet super endearing heroine, and a swoon-worthy hero. Jam-packed with hilarious dialogue, this is a breath of fresh air in what can be an oversaturated romance genre.
YOU WERE GIVEN A BOX OF CHOCOLATE WHAT FICTIONAL BOYFRIEND WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM TO YOU?
Shocker, I picked Jamie Fraser.
YOU ARE SINGLE ON VALENTINE’S DAY. WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU READ? WHAT TV SHOW WOULD YOU WATCH? WHAT MOVIE WOULD YOU WATCH?
Whether I was single or not, these three would make the cut on Valentine’s Day. On Dublin Street by Samantha Young is a book that I could read everyday for the rest of my life, and still swoon as much as I did the first time I read it. I don’t watch very many shows, but Poldark is one that I’d totally sit and binge watch on a day designated for love. I ship Ross & Demelza something FIERCE. (If you have not seen it, do yourself a favor, and DO IT.) As far as movies go, Pride & Prejudice is in my top top top of all time. Especially the version with Keira Knightley. And my heart swoons out of my chest every time I watch the scene where Darcy confesses his love to Elizabeth. (I may have just swooned right now as I typed that, lol.) I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen this one, but I distinctly remember when I bought it, it stayed in my blu-ray player for 3 straight months.
YOU ARE IN THE BOOK STORE. ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU GET SHOT WITH AN ARROW BY CUPID. WHAT NEW RELEASE WILL YOU LOVE?
This *technically* came out in January, but SERIOUSLY. I have yet to read a book by Elle Kennedy that I don’t like. If you like sports, romance, and sports romance, read her Off-Campus series STAT!
THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN! (Thanks, Kim!)
