Two people from completely different worlds are about to be thrown together…
In more ways than one.
She wants to keep her scholarship. He wants to stay on the team. An awkward alliance doesn’t even begin to cover Rimmel and Romeo’s relationship.
But that’s about to change.
It starts with a dare. An initiation. A challenge.
Quickly, it turns into more. But when you’re a victim of your status, there is no room for anything real. The rules are clear and simple.
Stick to your circle.
And never fall in love with anyone on the outside.
I mean, it was just okay for me.
I can see the appeal, and I can see how others would love this–but I did not love it. I just barely liked it.
There were some components I liked: the characters; the setting (MARYLAND!!!)
However, I found myself bored with the plot, as it was pretty predictable, and hella trope-y. View Spoiler »All it takes for the jock to take notice of the nerdy girls was for her to brush her hair and pin it up? Shallow much? « Hide Spoiler
And what is it with these college campuses that you read about in some NA books? How is it that the campus gossip and rumor mill are so prevalent? C’mon! I’m not saying you can’t find the same social divides as you do in high school, but I went to a small university, and I was lucky to even hear about school happenings, let alone student gossip. I’m sorry, I just don’t believe it, nor will I accept that it is viable in contemporary new adult books. *eye roll*
Bottom line: this book was good enough to hold my interest, but is riddled with ‘meh’.
