The sexy follow-up to Unidentified Redhead, this eBook from USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton is a magical mix of humor and heat—so cuddle up under the sheets; Grace and Jack are at it again!
As their careers catch fire, Grace and Jack—everyone’s favorite couple—find themselves on opposite coasts. Grace has landed in New York City, where she loves being onstage again, playing a fabulous character in a musical written by her old college flame, Michael. Their rekindled friendship makes exploring the city that much more fun. And it is just friendship, right?
Meanwhile, in L.A., Jack can scarcely keep up with the throngs of women who track him everywhere he goes, the endless press appearances, and the ridiculous rules his manager, Holly, keeps laying down for him—all part of the buildup to the release of Time, his steamy new film. Thank goodness for phone sex. But even when their schedules allow them to connect, Grace and Jack must keep their relationship off the radar and away from paparazzi cameras. Sure, the sex is sensational—but can they survive the swirling rumors, the demands of their chosen professions, and Grace’s internal battles?
More Grace & Jack = Win!
Redhead Revealed begins right where Unidentified Redhead leaves off, with Grace in NYC starting her musical and with Jack still in LA. They are doing the long distance thing, trying to make it work, but also missing each other terribly.
”I just miss you. I miss being in your bed,” he said quietly, and I could hear the desperation in his voice. I felt it too. It was not just the physical love he gave me, but the simple touches we took for granted when we saw each other all the time. I missed him washing my hair almost as much as the intense orgasms he had granted me daily.
Time apart is difficult enough, but Jack and Grace are supposed to be keeping their relationship under wraps. It’s in the best interest of Jack’s career and to keep Grace from being bombarded by paparazzi and angry fangirls during this crazy time.
“Listen up, Nuts Girl. When I say, ‘I don’t have a girlfriend,’ what I want you to hear in that tiny little head of yours is, ‘I love you, Grace,’” he instructed on the phone late one night. “When you hear me say, ‘No, I’m not seeing anyone right now,’ what you need to hear is, ‘Yes, yes, I am, and she has the best tits in the free world.’ Can you do that, please?”
“Yes, sir. I’ll listen for your secret messages. Jeez, this is so cloak and dagger. You’d think you were a spy or something.” I laughed.
When a few visits, copious amounts of phone sex, and reassurances from Jack stop being enough, Grace loses it a bit.
This whirlwind romance with Jack had brought up every insecurity I’d ever had. Sure, we were great when it was just us, but when you put it in the context of real life?
They ultimately have to figure out if they can make it work in the crazy life they have both chosen. Is it all worth fighting for? View Spoiler »And boy does Jack fight for his girl – OH YEAH! He let her have it! “Dammit, Grace. I don’t want to hear it! If I have to listen to you say again that we aren’t right for each other, I’ll seriously lose my shit. Do you have any idea what it was like to hear that from you? Now, you’ll sit there, and you’ll listen to what I have to say,” ….
“So if you think for a second I’m going to let you end this without giving me a legitimate reason, you are truly crazier than I thought. I’m in this thing with you, a willing participant, and you can’t decide for both of us. Not anymore,” « Hide Spoiler
This book definitely had more conflict and angst than the last, which is to be expected considering the conditions these two are working with. Although there was drama and some bad decisions made, I loved Jack and Grace through it all. Even when I was mad at one of them View Spoiler »Grace « Hide Spoiler, there were then moments I was insanely proud too. View Spoiler »Even though Grace fucks up, she owns up to it. She ultimately comes completely clean with Jack. I also was so proud of her for flat out telling Michael, her ex it would never happen. I’m glad the second she realized it she completely cut it off so Michael wouldn’t think they had a chance in the future. « Hide Spoiler There is still the humor we know of Alice Clayton, but it is definitely more dialed back in this one. And even with the distance and separation, there is still plenty of steam in this book. It’s what I’ve come to expect from these two – that dynamite chemistry and sexual tension.
Overall, I loved it. I cannot wait until the next book in the series to get more of this crazy duo. (Even though the description for the next totally makes me nervous, but it might be about time Jack shows he has one flaw! Lol)
We were silly, we were unique, we were thankfully not normal, and we were perfectly matched.
