6 Publishers. 3 Bloggers. 2 Days.
PUBBY LOVE: Publisher Love
If you’ve ever seen any of my previous Pubby Love posts, you’ll know that it’s a feature that I use to spotlight publishers we work with here on the blog. Book blogs tend to work closely with publishers/publicists to bring you content, and keep you in-the-know about upcoming (and previously released) titles for you (the reader) to consider.
Have you ever pondered how the publishing industry works? Have you ever been curious about publicist/blogger relations? Ever considered looking into working within publishing?
You’re not alone.
I’m incredibly fascinated by the inner workings of publishing; So many things have to fall into place during the book publishing process. Am I the only one? Probably not. I am eager to get a first-hand ‘inside peek’ at all the facets of publishing/marketing. As a matter of fact, I intend on traveling across 3 states to do so.
And we want to share all the things with you, too!
Who: 3 Bitchin’ Bloggers
What: “Pubby Love Live”
We will be visiting 6 different publishers, and will be live tweeting/instagramming the entire time. (Be sure to follow the hashtag: #PubbyLoveLive next week!)
When: July 23rd & 24th, 2015
Well, technically, we are roadtripping up on Wednesday (7/22), and coming home on Sunday (7/26)…but we will only be visiting publishers on Thursday (7/23) and Friday (7/24).
Where: New York City!
Here’s a detailed list of where we’ll be each day:
Day 1: Harlequin, HarperCollins, Macmillan, St. Martins, Tor, Hachette, and Bloomsbury
Day 2: Penguin Teen, Alloy Entertainment, Simon Teen, Atria/Gallery Books
Be sure to follow each of us on social media so that you don’t miss a thing!
Why?: Knowledge Is Power, yo.
First and foremost, we want to get face time with publicists we work with on a daily basis. (WE LOVE THEM!) We also want to get one-on-one interactions with publishing peeps, in hopes of fostering positive blogger/publisher relationships. We want to have open dialogue with publicists, and gain a better understanding about how we can work together as a partnership to promote titles. (And keep our lovely followers in the know!)
Want to participate?
We can’t physically take you all with us, but we can take you there via Twitter & Instagram! Do you have any questions you’d like us to ask publishers? Any titles you’d like for us to look for while we’re there? Any pictures you’d like for us to take (example: THE BOOK WALL AT HARPERCOLLINS)? We’d love to relay some of your questions/concerns to the publishers we’re planning to visit. Make sure to leave any questions in the comments below, or on either Hannah‘s or Steph S.‘s posts. We also invite you to TWEET at us using the #PubbyLoveLive hashtag at anytime between now, and next Friday (7/24)! We want to spread as much Pubby Love as possible, so the more the merrier!
We can’t wait to start our EPIC journey next week!
