A huge thanks to Kim from Kimberly Faye Reads for tagging me! I love this so much because it combines one of my fave boy bands and books! AHHH!
Let me briefly tell you about how much I love me some NKOTB. Being a child of the late 80’s and 90’s, I was OBSESSED with NKOTB. When NKOTB made a comeback in 2010, I was first in line for tickets. Between 2011 and 2012, I saw them in concert 5 times. FIVE. I traveled to different states to do this as well. Here is some photo documentation:
That’s right. If you’re thinking “That girl is cray”, then you’re right. I am. Crazy for these boys from Boston. Even crazier for my favorite: Donnie Wahlberg. Matter of fact, I got to TOUCH Donnie, and hold hands with him for several glorious moments:This is how close he was to my body. If you’re asking yourself: “Is this real life?”, I would say to you: “YES. My life was this awesome for several suspended moments in time.”
But you didn’t come here to hear me gush about Donnie, or the other fellas from NKOTB. You came here for the BOOKS.
Alright, down to business.
Here are my selections:
Boomerang by Noelle August: New Adult is usually more hit or miss for me. This was a HIT.
More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera: This seems so different, and fresh! I can’t wait to read it. It seems to have some Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind vibes.
The Prom Goer’s Interstellar Excursion by Chris McCoy: This cover tho. And this book has been described as “Superbad meets Spaceballs” <–YES.
PS, I couldn’t pick just one. Here’s my new fave:
Six of Crows (The Dregs, #1) by Leigh Bardugo: I don’t even know where to begin with this. It’s all so stunning.
The Winner’s Crime (The Winner’s Trilogy) by Marie Rutkoski: I love me some Kestrel. And Arin. And this cover. And this series. Read it.
Firefight (Reckoners, #2) by Brandon Sanderson: There were SEVERAL twists in this book (even more than book 1), and a couple that I did not see coming. I actually had to put the book down and collect the fragments of my skull and brain matter, as my mind was totally BLOWN. This is such an awesome series!
Dead of Winter (The Arcana Chronicles, #3) by Kresley Cole: This book left me with so much frustration and disappointment that I DNF’d. I DNF’d this almost 2 months ago, and the anger is still burns deep within.
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven: Man, this book. I couldn’t live my life like a human being for almost 2 weeks after I read this. It went well beyond the book hangover; this book gets under your skin, and into your heart. This book knocked my off my feet. It’s so amazing.
Sea of Stars (Kricket, #2) by Amy A. Bartol: This series is the complete package. Action, suspense, romance, swoon-worthy men, strong heroine, and captivating world-building. I absolutely LOVE this series. I can’t wait for book 3!
Rites of Passage by Joy N. Hensley: This book was FANTASTIC! A different kind of story that breaks away from the usual YA Contemporary “formula”. I read this in one sitting, and am feeling compelled to do a reread soon.
Silver Bastard (Silver Valley, #1) by Joanna Wylde: This was one of my highly anticipated books of 2015, and when I was lucky enough to get an early galley, I couldn’t NOT read it. I stayed up ’til 6AM reading it last weekend. It was SO GOOD.
The Experiment in Terror Series by Karina Halle: These books would be PERFECT for TV. There’s romance, suspense, and the supernatural–what more could you ask for? I’d die.
P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, #2) by Jenny Han: I have GOT to know how Lara Jean’s last love letter is received. WILL HE LOVE HER TOO? CAUSE OMG, I NEED TO KNOW! I am not so patiently awaiting this release.
The Stage Dive Series by Kylie Scott: Deep (book 4) isn’t out yet, but I’m already dreading the end. I’ve grown way too attached to the men of Stage Dive. *le sigh*
Thanks for stopping by! Donnie speaks for both of us:
