The Temporary Bliss Blog Tour starts September 9th, but let’s kick things off with some information about the book and maybe get to know BJ Harvey a little better!
About Temporary Bliss:
Describe Temporary Bliss in less than 20 words:
BJ: It’s book about a real modern day woman realizing no rules or vows can stop your heart from falling in love.
Where did you get the idea for TB?
BJ: I was listening to the song Temporary Bliss by The Cab and its about a girl messing with a guys head. It made me think about a woman with “friends with benefits” and what would happen if she met the man of her dreams.
Without being spoilery, what was your favorite scene to write?
BJ: There are a lot of funny scenes in Temporary Bliss but I think any scene where Mac has a rant or Mac and Kate have a freakout were the most fun to write. One of Mac’s freakouts was a paragraph long and had no punctuation marks!Oh yes! I love those epic Mac rants. Hilarious!
What about the most difficult to write?
BJ: There are two scenes that I had to rewrite three times each and every time they ripped me apart.
What do you want people to know about Mac & Daniel’s story?
BJ: That you cannot predict when or where you’ll fall in love and with whom. Mac was not looking for anything and thought she was happy with her life and her arrangements. But sometimes you don’t truly know what will make you happy until you’re faced with it.
I loved reading about Mac’s journey and how she dealt with her feelings for Daniel and reconciling her beliefs. She is an awesome heroine I think most people can relate to in some way.
Do you have any signings planned in the near future?
BJ: Unfortunately living in New Zealand makes it rather hard to attend signings. I’m not ruling out a trip to the US in the future though.
Song that best sums up your life?
BJ: Counting Stars by One Republic
BJ: None at all. I don’t have regrets, I simply learn from my mistakes.
BJ: Losing my family.
5 most important things in your life?
BJ: My two girls, my husband, my phone, my health, and my sanity.
How would your hubs describe you?
BJ: As a geek who is addicted to her books and writing and fictional life lol.Ha! That sounds like most of us here I think. Embrace the geek!
Have any tattoos or piercings?
BJ: I have a tattoo on my left shoulder of a bass clef and treble clef turned into the shape of a heart. I’m getting my next one in October.Awesome! Care to share what it’ll be?
BJ: It’s going be no regrets written in French on the inside of my wrist.
Last thing you lied about?
BJ: Probably some purchase I wasn’t supposed to make.
Biggest pet peeve?
BJ: I like eating pickles with mustard.
Most embarrassing moment?
BJ: Dropping my g string on the road when I was pulled over by a cop.LOL! Details please?
BJ: Way too x rated for this interview.
BJ: The Labrynth
