From the New York Times bestselling author of the Fall Away series who never fails to deliver a “powerfully written contemporary love story…”*
Former tennis player Easton Bradbury is trying to be the best teacher she can be, trying to reach her bored students and trying to forget her past. What brought her to this stage in her life isn’t important. She can’t let it be. But now one parent-teacher meeting may be her undoing…
Meeting Tyler Marek for the first time makes it easy for Easton to see why his son is having trouble in school. The man knows how to manage businesses and wealth, not a teenage boy. Or a young teacher, for that matter, though he tries to. And yet…there is something about him that draws Easton in—a hint of vulnerability, a flash of attraction, a spark that might burn.
Wanting him is taboo. Needing him is undeniable. And his long-awaited touch will weaken Easton’s resolve—and reveal what should stay hidden…
(*STANDALONE, NO CLIFFHANGER*)
If you’ve been following my posts on Twitter, Instagram, or Goodreads, you’ll know that last month I became utterly addicted to Misconduct by Penelope Douglas. So much so, that I have made it my mission to get this book on everyone’s TBR lists.
I’m going to get straight to the point with this post, and give you my top 5 reasons that Misconduct should not only be on your radar, but also at the TOP of your TBR/Wishlist. (AND, you’ll also have an opportunity to win a copy for yourself, too!)
Reason #1: DUAL POV!
Misconduct is told from both Easton & Tyler’s points-of-view.
Y’all know I love that shit!
Both characters have a distinct voice; I loved being in both of their heads.
Reason #2: DILF DILF DILF
Two words for you: TYLER. MAREK.
He’s broody, mysterious, ambitious, sensual and HELLA FINE. (And also, hella MINE!)
He’s the father of one of Easton’s students, which makes him a certifiable DILF. Throughout the course of this book, you’ll not only get to see the progression of Tyler’s relationship with Easton, but also the progression of Tyler’s relationship with his teenaged son, Christian.
This adds a whole new dynamic to the story, which will pull at your heartstrings…and your panties.
Reason #3: Wicked. Sexy. Dialogue.
This book is filled with dialogue that will have you feeling the heat!
Here’s just one of many moments that had me clutching my pearls:
“Oh, God,” I groaned. “I fucking hate you.” Why couldn’t he wait? I wanted to feel his skin.
“As long as you fucking fuck me, I don’t care.”
This is also a perfect segue to my next reason…
Reason #4: An EPIC Hate-to-Love Romance
Though Easton and Tyler’s romance may not always come easy, their sexual chemistry/tension is the absolute most certainly does. It’s the absolute best!
Matter of fact, their verbal sparring made for some amazing steamy moments afterward.
Which leads to a little bit of this:
Which always ends in this:
Which always had me all:
Their verbal spats were the best kind of foreplay.
Reason #5: Misconduct is the complete package.
This book has it all: a little forbidden romance, great dialogue, extremely steamy scenes, a dose of angst, and a dash of suspense. I found myself hard-pressed to put the book down. While reading, I laughed, I swooned, and I sniffled (cause my eyes were “sweating”). I was whole-heartedly invested in the story; I devoured it from cover-to-cover in one sitting. (Which consisted of reading it on my kindle while in the Starbucks drive-thru, on my phone while switching out laundry, and on my iPad while cooking my dinner.)
Penelope Douglas is a wonderful storyteller; her characters will leap off the page and into your heart. If you haven’t had the opportunity to read anything by her yet, do yourself a favor and pick this one up! (Great starting point, IMO!)
After reading this hot little number, I’m officially putting Penelope on my “AUTO BUY” and “1-CLICK-ALL-HER-STUFF” lists.
Now do yourself a favor, and bump this up your TBR lists, and clear your schedule on December 1st when Misconduct hits shelves/e-readers.
