TRUST – verb: to believe in the reliability, truth, or strength of another.
Up until now, Logan Mitchell has never had much of a reason to trust anyone.
Having struggled with a self-identity crisis throughout college, he’s spent the years since then creating a sophisticated facade to present to the world.
It’s an armor he thought was impenetrable—until he met Tate Morrison.
The gorgeous, headstrong bartender he’d sat across from only months ago has taken a tight hold of his heart, and Logan is discovering that it’s time to let go.
It’s time to let someone inside.
After years of placing his dreams on hold for his family, Tate has finally chosen to do what makes him happy and follow his heart.
The one thing he never would’ve imagined was that it would lead him into the arms of a man—and not just any man—the striking, never-takes-no-for-an-answer Logan Mitchell.
Tate has fallen hard, and as his world is turned on its axis and they move forward together, he finds his life becoming more entwined with the confident, successful lawyer.
Even though neither man expected the other, it’s time to trust in their relationship—but not everything comes so easily…
Where to begin with this? As with every Ella Frank novel, and especially every Temptation series novel, I devoured this story.
Considering the trials that they face in the first two books of this series, I was very curious to see how Logan & Tate’s story would grow and progress. Without getting into specifics (and in the spirit of keeping this COMPLETELY SPOILER-FREE), I will tell you that we get to see them go through a very emotionally-charged journey in this book. The ups, the downs, and the in-betweens will completely take you by surprise. There are some plot twists and turns, as well as some revelations that may have you clutching your pearls. But let’s get to what you really want to know: yes, the sex will have your kindles steaming!
My favorite thing about Trust was all the verbal foreplay between Tate & Logan. At times their dirty talking was almost better than their “sexy time”! Ella has a way to make you feel ALL the things with the way she writes her stories, and this book was just another testament of her innate ability to write a novel that goes beyond the eroticism and straight into your heart. There will be laughs, swoons, tears, and frustration–yet it is all worth it. Once you get to the end, you’ll be fighting the urge for a re-read.
This was one of my all-time favorite novels from Ella Frank, and a must-read for fans of a great erotic romance.
Yes, it’s M/M, but if you go into it with an open mind and heart, I can guarantee you’ll fall in love with Logan & Tate’s story.
“What’s wrong with my hair? Are you saying I need to cut it?”
“No, I’m fucking not,” Logan said as he fingered the curls by Tate’s ear. “And you know it.”
“What would you do if I did shave my head?”
“Kill you? And likely get away with it since I have connections to a very reputable law firm.”
Tate chuckled and shoved Logan until he was on his back beside him. “Be serious.”
Logan turned his head on the pillow and ran his eyes over Tate’s full head of hair. Then he returned his gaze to the eyes watching him. “I would quite possibly cry. For days.”
“Over my hair? It does grow back, you know.”
“Yeah, but not for months,” he grumbled. “Can you please stop talking so calmly about this? You’re making me nervous.”
Tate shifted until his long, lean body was stretched out above him, and Logan widened his legs to allow him to settle in between.
“Don’t worry,” Tate assured him as he lowered his head to kiss the corner of his mouth. He then moved those teasing lips to Logan’s ear and whispered, “I like your hands in it too much to cut it off.”
Logan threaded his fingers through the thick waves and asked, “Like this?”
With a groan, Tate rocked his hips against him, and Logan twisted his fingers tighter.
“Exactly like that.”
“Good,” he said as he wound his legs around Tate’s. “Because this way, I can have a tight hold on you when you’re trying to distract me. I’m onto you, Mr. Morrison. Don’t try to use your body against me.”
He almost lost his willpower when Tate, the cocky fucker, placed his hands on either side of his head and rubbed their erections together.
“You don’t want me to use my body on you?”
“Fuck you,” Logan said, knowing full well that, if he didn’t change the subject or get Tate the hell off him, he was going to roll him over and cease talking altogether.
Usually he’d love nothing more, but right now, he wanted to know why Tate had reacted so strongly to his question from last night—well, early morning.
“We need to talk.”
Throughout the course of the Temptation series, both of you learn a lot about one another. What is a quality that you love most about each other? What is something you’re still learning to appreciate? (example: any pet peeves?)
Tate: (Laughs) Oh wow, what an opener of a question. Hmm, his mouth? I’m still learning to appreciate that smartass, non-filtered, mouth of his.
Logan: I see how it is, and for the record, he seemed to appreciate it just fine this morning. (Winks) Let’s see, I would have to say his determination and stubborn streak. It’s such an integral part of him, but damn it can be frustrating as hell.
In Trust we find out about one of Logan’s childhood nicknames. Tate: Did you have any other childhood nicknames? If so, could you like to share with us?
Logan: A nickname he will never repeat. Right, Tate?
Tate: Sure I won’t…as long as you stop using my first name. Deal?
Logan: (shakes head) Deal, William?
Tate: Okay, Hot—
Logan: You need to answer the question.
Tate: (grins at Logan then turns to Stephanie) No, I don’t have any nicknames like Logan over there.
Logan: (mumbles) Asshole.
What is your idea of a perfect romantic evening?
Tate: You read it in Trust. I never would’ve guessed, or expected, one particular night with him. When Logan is out to impress, he goes all out. I can’t say anymore than that… my lips are sealed.
Logan: Any night with him.
Tate: And then he says something like that and really…do you doubt any night with him is less than perfect?
Tate: You got Logan to “try” by riding on the back of your motorcycle in book one. Do you have any other crazy things you’d like to see him try?
Tate: Not that I can think of. I don’t like making people do things they don’t want to do, or things that make them uncomfortable. The motorcycle was more the fact that I wanted to get him home to my place fast, and a taxi wasn’t going to cut it that night. But I will say, Logan is very open-minded. He’ll try most things.
With Cole and Rachel starting a family, do you see yourselves following suit at some point in the future?
Logan: Hell no. I can’t even imagine owning a dog, let alone being responsible for a child. (Looks to Tate, who is laughing) What?
Tate: I couldn’t agree with you more. I am just trying to imagine you with a dog. All of that hair over your perfect suits.
Logan: Oh shut it would you.
Tate: You know I’m right. It would drive you crazy.
If you could use 3 words to describe the other, what would it be?
Tate: Three words for Logan…sexy, intelligent, caring. Three doesn’t even scratch the surface of who he is though.
Logan: For Tate…that’s easy. Stubborn, hot and mine.
Tate: To describe me? Really?
Logan: Yes really. You’re mine.
Tate: (Chuckles) And happy to be.
Logan: Mhmm, you better be.
Do you guys have a bucket list? If so, what are a couple things you’d like to do/accomplish in the future?
Tate: I don’t have an actual list. But I will say, that I can’t wait to do things with Logan. It’s exciting to think of going on vacation with him, exploring new options in my life with him. I feel very lucky that he sat down across from me and saw something that he was attracted to.
Logan: I don’t know what to say after that. (Turns to Tate) You’re f**king sweet, you know that?
Tate: It’s true.
Logan: (Leans over and kisses him, and whispers on his mouth) I love you.
Tate: I love you too.
If there is one thing you’d like for a reader to take away from your story, what would it be?
Logan: Ella said it really well at the back of Trust – Our only hope is that we can each find a person who makes us feel loved and appreciated for who we are—and that we can open our eyes and see that sometimes we may just be surprised by WHO that someone turns out to be.
Tate: How very right she is.
Who hogs the covers/bed more? Logan
Who has better cooking? Tate
Which of you is most competitive? Logan
Who has the biggest sweet tooth? Tate
Which of you has the biggest temper? Both
Who is more of a cuddler? Tate
Thank you so much, Logan and Tate!
