Beckett Fox lives his life on the edge between danger and responsibility, and that’s all he’s ever known… until he meets Avery. Now, time at home is more appealing than the do-or-die future he’d always pictured for himself.
Fox has everything he’s ever wanted. But he knows better than anyone that life can change direction faster than the wind.
When an accident threatens to destroy his entire world, Fox will have to choose between fighting for what he loves or letting his past dictate his future.
How much strength does it take to move forward when history seems determined to knock you down? And how do you find the path to redemption when you don’t even recognize your own life?
Let me start by catching you up. Night reads is the second book in the Hey Sunshine series. The first book (Hey Sunshine) released in April of 2015. This is a new adult contemporary romance. New adult became one of my favorite genres over the past year or so, and I kept seeing Hey Sunshine floating around Instagram, so when I finally picked it up I fell in love. Head over heels. I mean seriously, go read it now! Its such an easy, sweet read. It was exactly what I love from new adult. So I jumped on the chance to be a part of this blog tour for Night Fox. I cannot wait to share Avery and Fox and Annabelle with the world. Now that we are all caught up…
Let’s talk about my love for for Night Fox. After falling in love with him during the first book, and then ending with that cliffhanger, I knew I was in for something tough in Night Fox. And I was right. Fox broke my heart to pieces!! Between getting some of his backstory to the current event he is struggling through, I was in tears. I am a big fan of avoiding spoilers, so I won’t go in depth as to why, but I just felt so awful for him but was also so angry at him! So conflicting. So heartbroken.
(Yall know I love a good gif to express my feelings. Also, I am still obsessed with VM. But I digress…)
Avery, that girl is so strong and has handled her fair share of heartache, and stuck right by Fox’s side through everything. I love her, and sometimes female leads are hard for me to love. But not Avery. Then we have little Annabelle! When there is a kid involved, I feel a special connection, because I am a mom myself. I actually have first hand experience with the situation with Fox and Annabelle. The way he loves that girl just makes my ovaries want to explode.
This book has a seriously great cast of characters all around. I love Heather (Avery’s best friend), and all of Avery’s family. I love Fox’s brother Lucas, and his mom and dad aren’t so bad either. The awful people are good at being awful, if that makes sense. Speaking of being awful, not only are we facing Fox’s personal demon in this book, but we also face a whole new bad guy, and Fox will do anything to protect his family. Not to mention, he is totally a hero, in more ways than one. Yep. A hero! Even after all the heartache, he is super swoon-worthy and steals my heart all over again.
Since this is the second book in the series, I am intentionally staying very vague. The first one ended on a cliffhanger, the second one did too, and now is the wait for the third. This was easily another 5 star read for me. Tia Giacalone has impressed me so much with these first two books that she is now an auto-buy author. Not to mention, she is just really awesome. I can’t wait to see these books popularity explode! I just want everyone to read this series. Like, now.
