Experiment in Terror is one of our favorite series EVER. If not our VERY favorite. No one can compare to Dex & Perry… ♥ This series gives us
To celebrate Ashes to Ashes (EIT, #8) coming out next month, Karina has put the ENTIRE series on sale for only $.99 each!
Today is the 11th day of “DEXMAS” and we are talking about COME ALIVE!
Come Alive is the first full length novel in the Experiement in Terror series that is soley told in Dex’s POV. We have MAD LOVE for our girl Perry, but after the novellas – The Dex-Files & And With Madness Comes the Light, we were BEYOND excited for this change. This ended up being one of our very favorite books in the series.
Come Alive is currently in the running for BEST HORROR in the semi-final round of the GOODREADS CHOICE AWARDS.

It’s one thing to bring the woman you love back into your life. It’s another to try and keep her there. For Dex Foray, convincing Perry Palomino to open herself to their burgeoning relationship has been more challenging than hunting ghosts, battling demons and stalking Sasquatch combined. Add in the fact that the only way they can keep their Experiment in Terror show running is to take on a third partner in the form of the mysterious Maximus Jacobs — all while investigating a sinister voodoo sect in New Orleans — and you’ve got the perfect Southern storm and a recipe for disaster. Luckily, Dex has never been one to back down, even when his life –and heart — are on the line.
Come Alive is told from Dex’s POV.
Just a quick bit of what we have to say about it…
I could talk about this until I’m blue in the face, and the cows come home. This series is so different from everything else that is out there right now. This book had me hooked not just because of the emotional investment that I have in the characters, but also because reading it was like a breath of fresh air. It’s hard to find books that don’t follow the same cookie-cutter plot lines as every other book within the genre. I didn’t know what to expect (aside from AWESOMENESS), which made me want to keep my kindle in hand 24/7 until I was finished reading this book.

What really got to me the most about this installment was the EMOTION! I was an ugly crying mess for part of this book, I jumped up and down with excitement, I got a little turned on (lol), raged like a crazy person, laughed hysterically (airplane scene, anyone? LMAO), and just FELT everything! This whole book, everything about it. Just PHENOMENAL! ♥

She looked shy. “You didn’t, I was just shocked. I mean, I though I saw she-beast earlier and I just assumed I was being paranoid…I didn’t know I was your girlfriend.”
I looked up, wondering if we needed to continue the conversation outside, but upon meeting my eyes, everyone else at the table started chatting loudly with each other on cue.
I turned back to Perry. “Well, you’re more than a girlfriend. Girlfriend is such a juvenile term, and as juvenile as I am, that’s not the way I feel about you. You’re a partner, a lover, a friend, and so much more than that. Sorry if I put you on the spot.”
“No,” she said, smiling. I wanted to kiss her nose. “It’s okay. I’m glad you did. I’m sorry I’m being such a weirdo about all of this. It’s just hard to believe how far we’ve come, you know? My brain is just catching up now.”
“So you’re okay with me being your boyfriend? I’ll treat you real nice. We can go steady and you can wear my letterman jacket.”
“Ooooh, maybe,” she said playfully. “What letter is on it?”
“No letter, just a picture of a cock.”
She snorted. “Of course there is.”
“It’s a rooster, you pervert.”
She eyed me dryly. “Oh yeah? Why a rooster?”
“It symbolizes my cock. Can’t love me without loving cock.”
If you haven’t started this series yet, now is the PERFECT time to start. DO IT NOW! $.99 people!
